The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads General Washington 1776 and the reverse text is Birth Place of American Independence 1776. The front side of the coin shows a large bust of Washington that takes up a majority of the field of the coin, with the date situated below the neck line. The backside of the coin depicts the entire Independence Hall in the center with two lines of text below the horizon line and one line of text arching over the steeple.
