The front side of the coin shows a bust of the President facing the left with text arching above and around his head. The backside of the coin depicts a female figure kneeling with a child in front of her, holding scales in the hand and allowing the child to pour metals into the refinery, text all surrounding, illustrating the United States guiding hand on the opening of the Manila Mint.
