The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Golden Gate 1849 1906 Panama Pacific International Exposition 1915 San Francisco California and the reverse text is Exhibitions Held in the United States, Panama Canal, International and Industrial, by E.E. Hensley S.E. 1939 New York, 1853 Philadelphia 1876, 1926 Norfolk 1907, Charleston 1901-02, Chicago 1893 1933-34, Buffalo 1901, Omaha 1898, St. Louis 1904, Nashville 1891, Atlanta 1895, New Orleans 1883-84, San Diego 1915 1935-36, San Francisco 1894 1915 1939, Portland 1905, Seattle 1909. The front side of the coin shows a gate in the center with its doors opening to the viewer, a tower in the lower center of the gate and ships in the background, stars surround the gate and the text is overlaid. The backside of the coin depicts a map of the United States and Central America with exposition locations overlaid on the map, this medal contains a lot of text with circular text surrounding the design.
