The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads 1860 1960 The Pony Express Centennial and the reverse text is Pony Express, Apr. 3 St. Josephs Winning the West 1860 1960. The front side of the coin shows a horseback rider riding his horse towards the left side of the coin with two stars to either side, arching text above and below with the dates over the riders shoulder. The backside of the coin depicts a horse in the center surrounded by text and an oval shape, arching text above and below the oval in the center.
