This Token Came From – W.A. Handy Merchant Tailor and Clothier Store
This token typically receives the Hard Times Designation of HT-427.
The obverse text reads “W.A. Handy Merchant Tailor Wholesale & Retail” and the reverse text reads “Washington Row Providence R.I. 1834 E Pluribus Unum.” The obverse of the token has two lines of text in the center with two piece of ornamentation, and the reverse shows an eagle surrounded by text.
