The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Town Hall Built 1936, Town of Stratford Connecticut 1639 1939, Tercentenary and the reverse text is First Church in Stratford 1639-1680, Cupheag Plantation Landed at Mac’s Harbor 1639. The front side of the coin shows a church in the center with billowing clouds behind the church and a tree to the left side of the building, two lines of text listed below and text surrounding in the thick outer border of the coin. The backside of the coin depicts a small hut that is the first church in Stratford with trees behind it and three lines of text below, text surrounding in the outside border.
