The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the reverse text is the Declaration of Independence 1776. The front side of the coin shows a decorative border surrounding a nude bust of George Washington in the center, President Washington is surrounding by single and double lines of text. The backside of the coin depicts a scene in the center of the signing of the Declaration of Independence by John Trumbull with text above and below the scene, figures in the foreground sitting and standing at the desk while writing the Declaration, two flags crossed in the background.
