The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Trans-Mississippi Exposition Omaha 1898 and the reverse text is 1848. The front side of the coin shows a female bust facing the left side of the coin with her hair in a bun, date underneath the bust, and text surrounding the head. The backside of the coin depicts a cowboy riding on a horse with a spear, killing a buffalo in the plains, with a date below.
