The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads U.S. Grant Monument and the reverse text is Commemorative of the unveiling of the Grant Monument Lincoln Park Chicago October 7, 1894 Erected by the citizens of Chicago. The front side of the coin shows a man riding on a horse, identified as U.S. Grant, the horse and man are facing the left with single lines of text surrounding. The backside of the coin depicts seven lines of text in the center with a single star at the lower center of the coin and lines of text surrounding.
