The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Washington, U.S. Grant 1776 1876 E Pluribus Unum Centennial F X Foehler and the reverse text is Dedicated to the people of the United States as a memorial of the first Century of Liberty. The front side of the coin shows two figures standing to either side of a shield in the center with an eagle above, spread wings with a banner over head, surrounded by 25 stars. The backside of the coin depicts a wreath tied at the bottom and containing lines of text within.
