History, Information, and Value of 1923 Peace Dollar

Value of 1923 Peace Silver Dollar

The 1923 Peace dollar, from the Philadelphia Mint, is considered among the most common in this series, and while many were circulated, large quantities were stored in Mint bags. This date is typically among the highest-quality issues of the series, though some exhibit water spots or milk spots making them unattractive to many collectors. You will find a high grade coin to be very affordable. Cherrypick for quality.
Expect Silver Prices For Circulated Coins: Always available in EF and AU, but like the previous and later years, the 1923 silver dollar is usually just a bullion-valued coin in these circulated grades.
High Grade 1923 Peace Dollars Are Common: There is no shortage of 1923 Peace dollars in grades up to and including MS-67, though at that level the selection is limited in quantity if you seek coins in third-party holders. MS-65 coins will present no problem, and MS-66 coins will be a little pricier but well worth the wait if you can find one with bold design details and brightly active luster. When selling 1923 Peace dollars, expect buyers to pay close attention to eye appeal and original luster.

The obverse text on the Peace Dollar reads “Liberty; In God We Trvst (Trust); 1923.” The reverse text on the silver dollar reads “United States of America; E Pluribus Unum; One Dollar; Peace.” The obverse of the coin has a bust of a female facing the left with a pointed crown and flowing hair. The reverse of the Peace Dollar has an eagle sitting on a rock in the center with rays in the background.
