The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads The World’s Columbian Exposition Chicago 1893 and the reverse text is The Art Palace 320 x 500 feet, Cost $670,000. The front side of the coin shows a beaded border surrounding the open wreath in the center, text positioned between the border and the wreath, a portrait of Columbus is facing the left in the center of the dollar. The backside of the coin depicts the Art Palace in the center of the coin with 3 lines of text below listing the specifications of the buildings.
