This token typically receives the Hard Times Designation of HT-155.
The obverse text reads “American Institute New York H” and the reverse text reads “Copy of a Gold Medal Awarded to R & W Robinson, For the best Military, Naval, Sporting, & Plain Flat Buttons, 1836.” The obverse of the token shows the American Institute State of a lady with an eagle and shield, and the reverse has text showing that this token is a copy of a previous gold medal.
