The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads H.A.S. Rex King of Carnival, Monarch of Merriment and the reverse text is Pro Bono Publico New Orleans Mardi Gras. The front side of the coin shows text surrounding the head of a King with a crown on top, a small dotted border surrounds the text with a beaded border to the outside edge. The backside of the coin depicts a shield and drapes in the center with a palette and mask to the lower left and right, text above and below with a dotted and beaded border.
