The 1973-S Lincoln Memorial Cent was a coin that created much speculation at its release. Due to a delayed release from the Mint, collectors thought that the mint would be discontinued. $50 face value bags sold for over $700 on the market. However, don’t get your hopes up. This coin is common (now that all of the coins have been released) and will only trade for face value.
The text on the Lincoln one cent coin reads as follows. Obverse: LIBERTY; Date; IN GOD WE TRUST; S (San Francisco) | Reverse: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA; E PLURIBUS UNUM; ONE CENT.
