The 1997-D Lincoln Memorial Cent comes in two varieties. The first being the normal strike, which is a brilliant color and deep luster. The second variety is a more muted copper coin that was not dipped correctly at the Mint. This coin was put in a mixture of copper and zinc rather than being coated in a 100% copper dip.
