The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Nassau Water Works Commcd. July 1856 and the reverse text is Water Introduced in the City of Brooklyn December 1858 Celebrated April 1859. The front side of the coin shows Neptune lounging and seated in the center with his right arm lifted and his left arm stabilizing him, water below and his left hand positioned near a pipe, text above and below. The backside of the coin depicts a building in the center with a smoke stack to the left side of the coin, smoke coming out and text arching above, a double line of text below the building.
