The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads Nassau Water Works Commcd. July 1856 and the reverse text is Water Introduced in the City of Brooklyn December 1858 Celebrated April 1859. The front side of the coin shows a lounging man in the center pointing towards the left with text above and below. The backside of the coin depicts a building below, the Water Works building, with the date below and arching text above in two lines.
