The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads To commemorate the opening of the Panama Canal MCMXV On! Sail On and the reverse text is Panama-Pacific International Exposition San Francisco California MCMXV. The front side of the coin shows Mercury standing slightly to the right of the center of the dollar and holding a staff with a snake, a ship is in the background near the pillars and decorative text surrounds. The backside of the coin depicts two figures come together sharing a cornucopia with the globe in between them and text surrounding in a circular orientation.
