The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads H.A.S. Rex King of Carnival, Monarch of Merriment and the reverse text is Pro Bono Publico New Orleans Mardi Gras. The front side of the coin shows the head of a man facing the left side of the token with a crown on his head, shoulder pads below, text surrounding with a dotted border. The backside of the coin depicts an artist palette and mask below a shield in the center, text surrounding with a beaded border.
