The United States Agriculture Society medals were first struck in 1858 at the Mint and continuously struck up through 1861. The obverse displays a wreath surrounding a woman holding a laurel wreath. The legend reads, “UNITED STATES AGRICULTURE SOCIETY MDCCLII; F.N. MITCHELL BOSTON.” The reverse displays a scroll with space for engraving. At the top the legend reads, “AWARDED TO.”
