Most 1925 St. Gaudens double eagles are boldly to sharply struck with bountiful mint luster. Uncirculated survivors vary from heavily abraded to virtually pristine. With a generous population of Gem-quality survivors this is one of the easier Saint-Gaudens double eagles to locate with overall smooth surfaces.
Although not as plentiful as the 1924, 1927 or 1928, the 1925 is still one of the most common issues of this type with examples readily obtainable in grades from MS-60 through MS-66. Perhaps surprisingly for an issue with so many Mint State coins extant, the 1925 is rare in higher grades with the finest certified examples clustered at the MS-67 level.
